Equipment

Snowsports equipment consists of skis, boots and poles for skiers or snowboard and boots for snowboarders. These components can either be booked individually, or as part of a package. Poles are always included in ski hire. If you have your own equipment, remember to pre-book Ski and Snowboard Carriage to ensure your equipment can be transported.

Lift Passes

Lift passes allow access to the slopes and lifts and are essential for all skiers and snowboarders. There are generally two types of pass available, local and area. A local lift pass covers the resort in which you are staying and is ideal for beginners or for those who feel that they will not explore a vast ski area during their stay. For those who are staying in a resort that is part of a wider linked area and who want the freedom and flexiblity to explore it, an area lift pass would be more appropriate. Keep your lift pass safe! In most resorts, they will not be replaced if lost.

Please note that many resorts, with the exception of most French resorts, require guests to have a passport-size photograph for their lift pass, however not all resorts have photo booth facilities. Therefore to save time and avoid disappointment, it is strongly advisable to obtain a passport-size photograph for each member of your party prior to departure.

Learn to ski for FREE

The 2009/10 season is no better time to be a beginner as you can learn to ski or snowboard absolutely FREE. From 16th-23rd January or 20th-27th of March, First Choice Ski is helping to get new skiers learning on the slopes. Tuition

Tuition is essential for beginners and is great value for money. Classes are split into adults and children and segregated into groups dependent on ability level. The number, length and times of lessons are entirely resort specific and are with English-speaking instructors. Ski and snowboard school is an excellent way of meeting people and socialising and is always great fun.

'Learn to' packages

In selected 'easy to learn' resorts, we have bundled together the components of a ski or snowboard pack at a great value price to create a 'Learn to' package. Exclusively for beginners, 'Learn to' packages are resort specific but will typically include equipment, a local lift pass and tuition. They are not available in resort and must be pre-booked at the time of booking.

'Improver' packages

Improver packages are available in selected resorts in Andorra, and combine the essentials you need to take your skiing or snowboarding to the next level.

Packages typically include equipment, tuition and an area lift pass, all for the duration of your holiday.

Improver packages are not avaiable to absolute beginners.

Ski and Board Escort Service

Free in Resort.

For intermediates and experts, we offer a Ski and Board Escort Service.

With good all-round knowledge of the resort and basic mountain safty, our Escorts are there to help you find the best runs and shortest queues to maximise your time on the mountain.

Ski and snowboard carriage

Ski and snowboard carriage must be pre-booked at the time of booking in order to take your own skis or snowboard on the plane. If carriage is not pre-booked then an extra charge will be levied at the airport and it will not be guaranteed that your equipment will be transported. Boots will form part of your luggage allowance.

Ski clothing hire

Ideal for beginners or families with growing children, hiring ski clothing and accessories is a great way of saving on the expense.
