St. Wolfgang ski resort guide

St. Wolfgang ski information

The scenic village of St Wolfgang is situated in an amazing setting on the shores of Lake Wolfgang, one of the most famous lakes in Austria. The village makes a wonderful base for a Winter Paradise or First Time holiday. Beginners will enjoy learning on the Postalm ski area, reached by ski bus (45 mins) and intermediates will enjoy the Dachstein West ski area (1hr 30mins). St Wolfgang also offers a good range of non-skiing activities such as snow-shoeing and curling, making it an great resort for skiers and non-skiers alike.

Please note: It is mandatory for ALL children under the age of 15 to wear helmets when participating in winter sports.

Skiing and snowboarding in St. Wolfgang

Ski Information Beginners

St. Wolfgang is a beginner's paradise. The Postalm has an extensive range of easy slopes on which to gain confidence (on occasion, lessons may also be taken on the Puchberg nursery slopes just outside St. Wolfgang). Complete novices will enjoy learning with our special 'First Time’ packages.

Ski Information Intermediates

The Postalm is ideal for improving your skiing technique in very picturesque surroundings. Dachstein West (Gosau) is also well worth a visit for a day or two. It is a large, more challenging area, primarily made up of red runs.

Ski Information Advanced

Skiing for experts is limited on the Postalm. However, there are some great runs to tackle in Dachstein West (Gosau), with 141km of piste.

Ski Information Snowboarding

The gentle terrain at Postalm provides a perfect introduction to snowboarding. Those looking for a greater challenge should head for Gosau, where there is a park and pipe to play in!
