Obergurgl ski information
Obergurgl has a charming ambience with no through traffic in the largely unspoilt village. Situated high up in the stunning Ötz Valley, the superb Obergurgl-Hochgurgl ski area offers a wide range of uncrowded pistes, the skiing and lifts start directly from the village, and most of our hotels are Ski In and Ski Out making the resort a popular choice. Many guests return to the area year after year to enjoy the excellent snow cover, high class hotels and queue free skiing of this resort in Austria. You'll find a selection of traditional après ski bars and beer kellers in the attractive centre and a variety of non-ski activities organised by our resort team.
Look out for our great value start of season offer to hotels Regina, Madeleine, Mühle, Alpenland, Haus Gurgl, Austria & Bellevue departing 7th December!Skiing and snowboarding in Obergurgl
Ski Information Beginners
This is the ideal base for beginners with plenty of forgiving blue runs, some rising to almost 3,000m with spectacular views.
Ski Information Intermediates
Pistes on the Festkogl and Gaisberg in Obergurgl are mainly above the tree line and lead right down to the village. Experience some exciting tree skiing around the Steinmann lift, while Hochgurgl offers a variety of long challenging runs.
Ski Information Advanced
The area has some surprisingly good advanced skiing. The Höhe Mut is one of the Tirol's biggest bump runs. Sattel has some great off-piste and the exhilarating Festkogl ski route is steep and unforgettable in fresh powder. On the Hochgurgl side you can head for the Königstal for excellent off-piste or try the black runs down from the top of the Wurmkogl at 3082m.
Ski Information Snowboarding
The Obergurgl/Hochgurgl area is a little gem sat at high altitude. Beginners should take advantage of the spacious, quiet slopes, and for more advanced borders there are some good off-piste trails.
